What are the Navagraha (nine planets)?
Also known as: the nine planets, grahas
The Navagraha are the nine celestial bodies of Vedic astrology: Sun (Surya), Moon (Chandra), Mars (Mangal), Mercury (Budha), Jupiter (Guru), Venus (Shukra), Saturn (Shani), and the lunar nodes Rahu and Ketu.
Rahu and Ketu are shadow points (the Moon's north and south nodes), not physical planets. Each graha rules signs, governs significations, and drives the Dasha periods.
